Founded in 1959 by Hans Wiener as "Wiener GmbH & Co. KG", our company continues to provide the International Science Community with electrical and electronic equipment of the highest quality. During the first 10 - 20 years our main activities were to solve research and development problems (e.g. analysing equipment for chemical industries as well as evaluation for satellite signals in the high tech field).

Development and production of NIM electronics and relative Crates increased, followed by CAMAC Units and Crates among special high quality (industrial and computer) power supplies for medium and high power application. The company`s activities changed and their main efforts were put towards manufacturing. FASTBUS and VME were acquired in the second half of the eighties and now we can feature a new addition to the W-Ie-Ne-R family: VXI Crates. In general W-IE-NE-R Crates are equipped with extremely high power to enable maximum utilisation. It is automatically understood that most of the crate products are compatible to the requirements of the leading research centres like CERN, DESY and others.

From the beginning of 1992, the company has been run by the new owners Manfred Plein and Jürgen Baus as "W-IE-NE-R, Plein & Baus GmbH". Both are familiar with data acquisitions, power supplies and crates. The business was taken up in order to increase the activities in Particle Physics Experiments around the world. With this in mind a worldwide sales network was founded and collaborations began mainly with CAEN, Italy, in sales production and development. In this way W-IE-NE-R has brought together the creation and the power for the benefit of our customers.
