• default-packages will populate /opt/products/...

  • bin (included in standard PATH)
  • man/info (included in standard MAN/INFOPATH)
  • several others like sbin, etc, ...

• use these with care (NOT used by default):

  • include - use -I switches instead
  • lib – use
    • LD_RUN_PATH (or link statically) at compile time
    • LD_LIBRARY_PATH at run time
