The deadline for submitting the title and the abstract of your talk or poster, for payment of the conference fee and for the reservation of accomodation is
Let us give here some more detailed information.
We anticipate your arrival on Saturday August 18, 2001. The departure date is planned for Friday 24, 2001. Only a smaller number of hotel rooms has been reserved for the nights August 17-18 and August 24-25. Further reservations may be possible, but a higher rate than during the conference has to be expected.
The conference fee of 480,- DM ( 560,- DM after June 15, 2001)
can be paid by transfer to the DESY bank account or with
credit card (only Visa or Master can be accepted, a fax form for
payment can be obtained from the web page). The fee includes
refreshments, the printed hard copy of the proceedings,
a ticket for all kinds of public transport, a concert and
an excursion to Potsdam followed by the conference dinner.
Accompanying persons who want to join our excursion and dinner
have to pay an extra fee of 150,- DM. You can pay this amount
together with the conference fee.

There is limited financial support for participants from Eastern Europe, from countries of the former USSR, from developing countries as well as for PhD students from all other countries. For providing financial support a contribution (talk in a parallel session or poster) is required. Those who ask for financial support should personally apply via email to the LOC
Accomodation in a variety of hotels with prices ranging approximately from 90,- to 170,- DM (for a single-bed room per night) can be selected through our hotel-booking form. The reservations will be handled by the travel agency Überland Reisegesellschaft mbH. Please, contact 'Überland' directly in case of further questions about your reservation. For further information (fax form, email address, some information about the hotels etc. ) see our home page.
Those who apply for financial support by the LOC will be preferably accomodated in university or DESY guest houses or in hotels of the lowest price category, respectively. In any case we kindly ask those participants to request a reservation at Hotel Kolumbus or Hotel Transit.
According to the tradition of the LATTICE conferences all participants are invited to give a contribution to the scientific programme. In particular our young colleagues are most welcome to present their results. But the number of parallel sessions will be limited. Therefore, we kindly ask all participants to consider the possibility to present posters. The LOC will feel free partly to shift contributions announced as talks into the poster session. A corresponding information will be sent to the contributor by email. The poster session will be organized in the first half of the conference. The posters will remain posted until the end. In case you would like to give a talk with a beamer, please, indicate this in the abstract submission form.

We do not arrange lunch for the participants. There are many places
around the conference site, where you can have lunch and dinner at
a reasonable price.
Those who are interested in buying tickets for the university cantine
should indicate this in advance on the registration form. We shall
sell these tickets at the conference reception desk.
Nowadays the City of Berlin is developing in a fascinating manner. Every day even we, Berliners, see something new and suprising. We hope that you will enjoy your participation in LATTICE 2001 and sightseeing in Berlin.
Two cultural Berlin-Brandenburg events at the Federal Garden Exhibition ('BUGA'), Potsdam, are worth mentioning:
For those who will stay at least until Saturday, August 25th we are offering a touristic excursion to the famous historical places of reformation in Lutherstadt Wittenberg on Friday, August 24th in the afternoon. The excursion will be arranged by the same travel agency 'Überland', if the number of interested participants exceeds a minimum number. Please, indicate your interest on the hotel-booking form.
