The DØ plan is to acquire a variety of desktops, each with at least some access to all DØ computing resources:

• UNIX workstations
  • for code development targeted at a UNIX platform
  • for users requiring workstation processor or graphics performance
  • PCs
    • for the intermediate user…
    • for users of PC development environment
    • for native users of commercial desktop applications
    • X-terminals
      • for lowest cost solution
