VMEbus is not involved in data moving
Data gathered onto the Physical Layer are available to the VME through a dual port memory
CPU power is fully available for data processing, monitoring, system bootstrapping
DAQ traffic is seen by the CPU as a kind of “peripheral activity”
Control and Data Paths are decoupled
