JOBS: Jefferson Lab Off-Line Batch System
Provides an automated facility for experimental users to store raw data and other files associated with their data acquisition into the central mass storage facility, and to schedule and track data reduction post-processing jobs and simulations on the central batch CPU farm.
Primary Functions
Storage of on-line data: Receive and store raw data via network and direct attached Fibre Channel; store run, job, and file metadata.
Tape Archive: Store and retrieve data files from central mass storage.
Off-line Data Reduction, Analysis, and Simulation: Automated scheduling of batch jobs to process multiple sets of run data.
Data Import/Export: Store and retrieve other files from central mass storage; (future: storage to other tape formats).
